“Stick to your plan. Anticipate, don’t improvise. Trust no one. Never yield an advantage.”
Michael Fassbender stars as “The Killer”, a professional Hitman stalking his “Hit” across the street from the French Hotel where his target is supposed to be coming to stay. The Killer is holed up in an office undergoing renovation, patiently waiting for the target to arrive. He listens to music, does yoga and meditates while he waits. When the Target arrives he quickly sets up his sniper’s rifle and prepares himself for the kill. Right as he gets a clean shot and fires, the Dominatrix with the target gets in the way and takes the bullet instead of the intended target.
He quickly packs everything up and escapes, while covering his tracks, and gets a flight out back to the States. He then returns to his hideaway home in the Dominican Republic to find it ransacked and his girlfriend gone. The Killer tracks down his girlfriend Magdala who is in the ICU being looked after by her brother. The Killer reassures them both that he will find those responsible and that it will never happen again.
As I’m tired of typing “The Killer”, and he has no name in the movie, from now on we will call him Michael. As in Michael Fassbender, who sets out on a mission to find out who and where are those responsible. The entire time Michael Fassbender narrates as if we are listening to what he is thinking to himself. As he is alone in most of the scenes, except when he has a rare conversation with someone else. What follows is an intense manhunt to exterminate those who did him wrong. Lots of stalking, action, adventure, drama and killing as only The Killer can.(Whoops….just said “The Killer”)
Michael Fassbender did a great job convincing me he is the bad ass assassin who will stop at nothing to set things straight. Business is business in that world and if you come after me and mine, I will destroy you and everything around you. Cold, calculated and with no remorse. I had my doubts at first, seemed a little slow, and all that narration wears on you. But I liked it, thought it was a good movie once things picked up after the bad “hit”.
Two Thumbs Up!
