THANK YOU AGAIN!!

Hi There.

We are hosted by WordPress, and they notified us over the weekend that we had reached another milestone here on Streaming Movie Night. It seemed like we just reached the last one and that I wrote that Thank You! post not that very long ago. I checked, it has been 3 weeks since I wrote that post. In three weeks we doubled what we accomplished before the last thank you.

We have grown steadily, in the last three weeks we have added three new menu categories:

MOVIE TRIVIA – Inspired by The Equalizer Trilogy, and 100 books list. That was our first venture outside of a straightforward Movie review and has grown with two more posts; A Quiet Place: Day 1-477: Story and Timeline and the Google Doodle inspired post about Emerson Romero.
TOP TEN LISTS+ – Also inspired by The Equalizer 100 Books List, and looking ahead to doing Top Ten Lists based on what we have reviewed. Maybe end of year Top Ten categories. (ANY SUGGESTIONS?)
THE CONCESSION STAND – Inspired by Emily Blunt in Pain Hustlers. That also led to our first Concession Stand blog post; MOVIE SALAD. And our first Video on our Youtube Channel; MOVIE SALAD. (ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR MORE CONCESSION STAND ITEMS?)

We have also reconstructed the Category pages to mimic the Movie Review Archives pages. They are now a grid list (21 to a page) instead of a single blog post, which is the way they should be. It was something that was driving me crazy until we got it straightened out.

We are still working on getting our store integrated into our site instead of a third party site, and the search pages are in the process of being revamped to mimic the blog posts page. Growing pains, but in a good way. I am very excited about the progress!

In the last THANK YOU! post in WORDS FROM BOBBY, we had reached 500 views.

Since Friday we have ran past 1000 Views and over 300 Visitors.

We must be doing something right!

THANK YOU!

We reached a few milestones this past week and I wanted to share them, and thank those who have browsed through our Streaming Movie Night Blog.

I started this blog April 28, 2024, or that was the first post anyway. The Beekeeper. That post was my first casualty last week. In trying to copy posts to Instagram on our new account: https://www.instagram.com/streamingmovienight/ somehow the post got erased and I had to re-write it and post it again. Lesson learned, I immediately backed up every post I’ve made to my hard drive.

It has been just under 4 months and 27 posts, counting this one. I started Streaming Movie Night because I found myself watching a movie almost every night with my folks and started thinking, “Gee, You watch so many movies and you’re trying to do more writing…..you ought to start a movie review blog.”

Sounds easy enough. It has almost taken on a life of it’s own. The name, the logo and the format all came together pretty quickly. Don’t get me wrong, it has been a lot of work but I have enjoyed the journey so far. Watching this little baby blog grow has been a joy to witness, it keeps me going. Striving to get better and make it better.

There was daily life to circumvent; Mom’s broken arm and surgery, Dad’s emergency room stays, the numerous Doctor appointments and to top it all off we all caught Covid. Woo-hoo! I plowed on, this blog gave me a purpose. It yelled at me to keep going, It would not be ignored. It begged to be fed content every day and I felt like it was telling me what to do, suggesting things to change to make itself better.

We’ve made 27 posts, posting 15 consecutively in the last 15 days, gone from a WordPress account to our own domain(streamingmovienight.com) remodeling our look as we did so, added a store and merchandise, expanded our presence to; FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TUMBLR and YOUTUBE, received dozens of likes, and…….…ah-hum……drum roll please……..

we just surpassed OVER 500 VIEWS!

That is very exciting!

It has made the rough patches worth going through and it gives me incentive to keep calm and strive on.

I am very proud of the work I’ve done, and watching my baby grow and receive confirmation in it’s existence brings me great joy….
