“Repeat after me, I will never steal from the weak and the elderly again.”
Jason Statham produced and stars as Adam Clay, a retired operative of a secret clandestine organization known as “The Beekeepers”. The agency is tasked with Protecting the Hive(The World) from the evil that wants to do it harm and The Beekeepers are the operatives on the front lines doing whatever it takes to protect the hive.
Adam is spending his retirement peacefully on a farm raising Bees, protecting their hive as he did when he was with The Beekeepers, when the owner of the farm is scammed out of millions of dollars by a well organized Phone Scamming group. Adam embarks on a journey to protect The Hive(his little retirement world), the elderly woman he rented from and exact revenge for the senseless act of betrayal that entered his quiet retirement existence. And that’s where the action starts.
The Beekeeper is exactly what you would expect from a Jason Statham movie. Good guy enacting revenge from those who entered his world to do bad. Completely sticking with the beekeeper theme. “I’m a Beekeeper, I protect the hive……Sometimes I use fire to smoke out the hornets……..Nobody’s untouchable…… Sometimes when the hive is out of balance, you have to replace the queen.”
I am a huge Jason Statham fan and I was not disappointed with this film at all. It was exactly what I expected and more. I loved the Beekeeper theme and the comparisons between keeping bees, protecting the hive, and good vs. evil. And you gotta love watching Jason Statham kicking ass!
Two thumbs up!
