I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for stopping by our little Movie Review Blog.

As we continue to grow and expand, we are experiencing a few growing pains. Excuse the dust as we remodel and try switching a few things around over the next couple of weeks. There are a few issues we are still trying to get resolved, most notably, integrating the SMN Storefront into our site. Hopefully we can accomplish that soon.

THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY!

On August 24 I wrote the first WORDS FROM BOBBY post THANK YOU! to commemorate 500 views. I liked Words From Bobby better than Editorial, even though that’s essentially what it is. We were only a couple of months old, having battled Covid and some other life issues, and really didn’t get going till the end of July. We had two posts at the end of April, 5 at the beginning of May, none in June and two at the end of July. We had reviewed 27 movies at that point.

On September 23 I wrote the WORDS FROM BOBBY post THANK YOU AGAIN!! to commemorate 1000 Views and 300 visitors. At that point we were up to:

42 MOVIE REVIEWS,
4 MOVIE TRIVIA Posts,
2 WORDS FROM BOBBY posts,
and a post in the new CONCESSION STAND category. (Reminds me of a Christmas song!)

So in 30 days we had 500 views. WOW! ok…I guess they like what we’re doing.

So this is October 23, 30 days later and we had another 500 views from 300 visitors. Which brings us to the grand total as of 5 hours ago to…….

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

1500 VIEWS!!!!!!

HURRICANE MADNESS!

Just a couple of quick things to talk about for those who have subscribed and those passing through.

Hurricane Madness:

We have been dealing with the passage and disruption of two major hurricanes back to back. Luckily we are dealing with minimal damage but it has completely thrown us off schedule over the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately for sooo many people, the hurricanes were a devastating, life-changing event. Watching the videos of Helene’s devastation and aftermath in North Carolina has been unsettling to say the least.

Watching the now emerging videos of the west coast of Florida are nauseating. Very upsetting. The depth of the devastation and power of the storm surge is completely unbelievable. Not only to the west coast but also the east coast as Hurricane Milton made it’s way across the peninsula a week after Helene. Parts of the barrier islands and coast are forever changed. Milton also spawned over twenty tornados as it made it’s way across Central Florida. The damage and devastation was a statewide affair, not centralized to a certain area. That is something new and is very unnerving. Is anywhere safe from climate change? Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

We will be focusing on catching up quickly over the next week or so as we get re-organized, so thank you for your patience as we get back to posting and reviewing on a regular basis again.

On a happier note:

We surpassed 500 visitors day before yesterday.

Another milestone moment for us here at Streaming Movie Night.

Small but significant.

WE TURNED 50!

We turned 50!

Sort of…. WordPress notified us that we have made 50 posts since our inception.

Another milestone, small but significant. We didn’t really envision the future as we started out, just sort of said, “Hey, let’s review some movies. We’re watching enough of them and it will be an exercise in writing more….Ok, here we go.”

Streaming Movie Night has taken on a life of it’s own. It has been and will continue to be a joy to watch as it grows. We look forward to the future and what the journey will bring. It has already taken twists and turns we didn’t expect but it is very exciting to wonder what directions it will take us next.

And what is the most popular post so far you ask?

The Equalizer 100 Books List with 109 views.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!

Hi There.

We are hosted by WordPress, and they notified us over the weekend that we had reached another milestone here on Streaming Movie Night. It seemed like we just reached the last one and that I wrote that Thank You! post not that very long ago. I checked, it has been 3 weeks since I wrote that post. In three weeks we doubled what we accomplished before the last thank you.

We have grown steadily, in the last three weeks we have added three new menu categories:

MOVIE TRIVIA – Inspired by The Equalizer Trilogy, and 100 books list. That was our first venture outside of a straightforward Movie review and has grown with two more posts; A Quiet Place: Day 1-477: Story and Timeline and the Google Doodle inspired post about Emerson Romero.
TOP TEN LISTS+ – Also inspired by The Equalizer 100 Books List, and looking ahead to doing Top Ten Lists based on what we have reviewed. Maybe end of year Top Ten categories. (ANY SUGGESTIONS?)
THE CONCESSION STAND – Inspired by Emily Blunt in Pain Hustlers. That also led to our first Concession Stand blog post; MOVIE SALAD. And our first Video on our Youtube Channel; MOVIE SALAD. (ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR MORE CONCESSION STAND ITEMS?)

We have also reconstructed the Category pages to mimic the Movie Review Archives pages. They are now a grid list (21 to a page) instead of a single blog post, which is the way they should be. It was something that was driving me crazy until we got it straightened out.

We are still working on getting our store integrated into our site instead of a third party site, and the search pages are in the process of being revamped to mimic the blog posts page. Growing pains, but in a good way. I am very excited about the progress!

In the last THANK YOU! post in WORDS FROM BOBBY, we had reached 500 views.

Since Friday we have ran past 1000 Views and over 300 Visitors.

We must be doing something right!
