Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington Team Up for Intense Netflix Thriller ‘Animals’

Written by Ben Affleck, Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray, Animals follows Mark Kimball (Ben Affleck), a high-profile, smooth-talking candidate currently in the middle of a cutthroat campaign to become the next Mayor of Los Angeles.

Just as the political pressure reaches a boiling point, the unthinkable happens: Mark’s young son is brutally kidnapped. Mark and his wife, Abigail (Kerry Washington), are thrown into a desperate race against time.

However, there is a massive catch that separates Animals from your run-of-the-mill abduction thriller: because Mark has completely drained their liquid assets to finance his mayoral campaign, the couple doesn’t have the cash to pay the ransom.

To save their son, Mark and Abigail are forced to get their hands incredibly dirty. They must navigate a dangerous web of political favors, elite corruption, and dark compromises—unearthing ugly, buried secrets that could destroy Mark’s political aspirations and ruin their lives forever.

As the film’s chilling tagline warns: “Power creates leverage, and leverage dictates outcomes.” Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun and Monica Barbaro also star in what is shaping up to be another Netflix Hit Movie.
