DC Studios Goes Full Body Horror in Terrifying First Trailer for Clayface!
Warner Bros. and DC Studios have officially shattered the superhero blueprint by dropping the full official trailer and poster for Clayface, plunging the upcoming DC Universe slate straight into gruesome R-rated body horror. The dark psychological thriller centers on Matt Hagen (Tom Rhys Harries), a promising actor whose face is left horribly disfigured following a violent run-in with a local crime boss.
Cast aside by the industry, Hagen undergoes a cutting-edge, experimental cellular treatment that successfully reshapes his skin—but the miracle surgery carries a devastating side effect, melting his physical form into a shapeshifting anomaly and driving him insane with an insatiable desire for bloody vengeance.
Clayface also stars Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan, as well as Nancy Carroll and Joshua James.
James Watkins directs from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, story by Flanagan, based on characters from DC.
The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and released only in theaters in North America on October 23, 2026, and internationally beginning October 21, 2026.
