Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz Team Up in First Trailer for Lionsgate’s ‘Day Drinker’

A massive Hollywood comeback is officially underway out on the open seas. Lionsgate has released the intense, supernatural first Official Teaser Trailer, Movie Stills and Movie Poster for Day Drinker (2027).

Directed by hit filmmaker Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man) and written by Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War), the high-concept revenge thriller represents a major cinematic milestone, serving as Johnny Depp‘s first leading role with a major Hollywood studio distributor since 2018.

The film stars breakout sensation Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks, Glass Onion) as a sharp, enigmatic bartender working aboard a high-end private luxury yacht. Her highly structured routine is completely upended when she crosses paths with a mysterious, erratic daytime drinker played by a transformed Johnny Depp.

The teaser hints at an incredibly tense, dark atmosphere filled with cryptic tarot cards and physical peril. As the yacht sails deeper into isolation, both the bartender and her strange guest find themselves violently entangled with a dangerous, calculating criminal underworld figure played by Oscar-winner Penélope Cruz.

Marking the duo’s high-profile fourth on-screen collaboration following Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Murder on the Orient Express. Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, Anika Boyle, and creature-acting icon Javier Botet also star.

Day Drinker will sail exclusively into theaters nationwide on March 26, 2027.
