There’s Only One Sylvester: AnnaSophia Robb Sparks the Legend in New ‘I Play Rocky’ Clip
Amazon MGM Studios has released an inspiring new exclusive film clip for I Play Rocky, the highly anticipated biographical drama tracing the legendary, real-life underdog story behind the making of Hollywood’s greatest sports movie.
Directed by Academy Award winner Peter Farrelly (Green Book), the film is slated for a staggered rollout, hitting select limited theaters on November 6, 2026, before expanding nationwide on November 20, 2026.
The new clip, titled “There’s Only One Sylvester,” captures the exact creative spark that changed cinema history forever, featuring a late-night walk between a dejected Sylvester Stallone (breakout star Anthony Ippolito) and his fiercely supportive partner, Sasha Czack (played by a blonde AnnaSophia Robb).
The scene drops viewers onto a quiet, dimly lit city street where a broke, frustrated Stallone is lamenting how Hollywood casting directors constantly reject him based on his unique looks and slurred vocal cadence.
It is during this walk that Sasha Czack delivers the ultimate piece of career-defining advice, telling him to stop waiting for permission and to take control of his own destiny: “Then write a script and give yourself the best part.” It is this exact challenge that prompts Stallone to lock himself away for a legendary 3.5-day writing marathon to create Rocky.
Sasha—who was his girlfriend during this exact 1974 writing phase and became his wife on December 28, 1974, right before the movie’s chaotic production began—acts as his ultimate rock and champion through those grueling, penniless days.
I Play Rocky swings into theaters November 6, 2026.
