Johnny Depp Hijacks San Diego Comic-Con in Full ‘Ebenezer’ Scrooge Prosthetics!
Paramount Pictures just pulled off the most insane viral stunt in San Diego Comic-Con history. To celebrate the trailer drop for Ebenezer (2026), Johnny Depp completely shocked fans by wandering the crowded streets of the Gaslamp Quarter in full, heavy prosthetic makeup as Ebenezer Scrooge.
Ebenezer Scrooge (Johnny Depp) then led the crowd into a chaotic Hall H presentation, where the studio unveiled the exclusive, first look trailer.
To set the mood for Ti West’s upcoming gothic thriller, Paramount constructed a temporary, faux-1880s Victorian London village right in the middle of downtown San Diego. Convention-goers were left stunned when a grumpy, historical figure began barking at the crowds to “clear the way.” It wasn’t until he took the Hall H stage later that afternoon that fans realized they had been interacting with Johnny Depp himself.
