Jumanji: Open World (2026) – First Look!

Two Worlds Collide in the fifth and final chapter in The Jumanji Franchise

The game is no longer contained! Sony Pictures has officially pulled back the curtain on Jumanji: Open World, the highly anticipated fifth installment and grand finale of the blockbuster adventure franchise.

This time, director Jake Kasdan flips the script on the formula that revitalized the series. Instead of pulling our real-world teenagers into the digital hazards of the video game console, a glitchy “demo mode” malfunction forces the game to leak entirely into our reality, unleashing a chaotic digital jungle, unpredictable stampedes, and dangerous video game characters onto a snowy, unsuspecting real-world town.

To fix the breaking dimensions, the core four video game avatars—played by the returning powerhouse lineup of Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan—manifest in the real world as stiff, digital variants of themselves who must team up with the real-world players.

The stakes are higher than ever: a young boy named Tyson and his mother have been trapped within the broken simulation, and our heroes are down to their very last life bar.

Adding to the comedic chaos, the franchise’s trademark body-swapping dynamics return with an entirely fresh twist, featuring Dwayne Johnson‘s towering Dr. Smolder Bravestone being controlled by a panicked middle-aged mother, while Jack Black‘s Professor Oberon is piloted by a local restaurant worker.

Combining nostalgic legacy cameos, like Bebe Neuwirth reprising her classic 1995 role as Nora, Jumanji: Open World shapes up to be an extraordinarily fun, high-stakes conclusion to a legendary cinematic franchise.

Jumanji: Open World breaks into theaters December 25, 2026!
