Street Fighter Three New Featurettes!

Hadouken! Inside the Practical Stunts, Brutal Training, and Vintage Animation of ‘Street Fighter’ (2026)

Paramount Pictures is leaving absolutely no room for doubt: the upcoming live-action Street Fighter reboot is shaping up to be the ultimate cinematic love letter to Capcom fans.

Ahead of its global theatrical release next Friday, October 16, 2026, a massive wave of behind-the-scenes assets has dropped, pulling back the curtain on the film’s incredible dedication to martial arts authenticity and 1990s arcade style.

From grueling boot camps to a stunning retro aesthetic, here is your breakdown of the three brand-new featurettes and the legendary character poster reveal.

‘A Brotherhood Forged’

The first featurette shines a massive spotlight on the classic rivalry-turned-friendship of the franchise’s two most iconic warriors: Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo).

The video dives deep into their shared history training as children under Master Gouken, their modern-day estrangement, and how they are forced to put their differences aside when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them to take down Shadaloo in the brutal World Warrior Tournament.

‘Training Days’

If you think the cast relied on stunt doubles and green screens, think again. The “Training” featurette reveals that the actors endured a grueling boot camp, drilling for 2 hours of kicks, 6 days a week over a 6-week period.

Under the direction of stunt choreographer John Valera, the cast mastered authentic Shotokan Karate to execute flawless, real-life versions of legendary video game moves. Get ready to see game-accurate renditions of Ryu’s Hurricane Kick, Chun-Li’s Spinning Bird Kick, Guile’s Flash Kick, and even a massive Atomic Suplex from Zangief!

‘Why Hand Drawn’

In a brilliant creative choice, director Kitao Sakurai revealed that the film is ditching the standard, overly polished CGI look. The “Why Hand Drawn” featurette explains how the visual effects team combined live-action combat with hand-drawn animation overlays and vintage cel effects.

By superimposing hand-crafted animation frames directly onto the physical martial arts, the filmmakers have replicated the kinetic, hard-hitting energy of the original 2D arcade sprites—making the entire movie look like a living comic book.

New Character Poster: Master Gouken Revealed!

To top off the featurettes, Paramount released the official Gouken Animated Character Poster. It features a beautifully stylized, half-animated look at the legendary martial arts master who raised Ryu and Ken.

The poster leans heavily into the film’s 1993-period aesthetic, utilizing the same hand-drawn cell overlays featured in the movie to showcase Gouken harnessing his ancient spiritual energy.
