Paul Atreides Transforms Into the Villain in Stunning Final Trailer for ‘Dune: Part Three’

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the breathtaking final trailer for Dune: Part Three, setting the stage for the absolute biggest cinematic event of the winter. Directed by sci-fi visionary Denis Villeneuve, the epic conclusion to the historic trilogy is locked to arrive exclusively in theaters and IMAX on Friday, December 18, 2026, with tickets officially on sale now.

Based on Frank Herbert’s classic novel Dune Messiah, this final chapter leaps forward nearly two decades to show the tragic, dark evolution of the Atreides empire.

The story takes place 19 years after Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) successfully seized the Imperial throne. The galaxy-wide holy war fought in his name has completely consumed the universe, leaving billions dead and transforming Paul from an underdog hero into a cold, isolated, and ruthless Padishah Emperor.

As the crushing weight of his future visions closes in, a massive, shadowy alliance forms in the darkness to neutralize his regime. The spectacular final preview reveals that this dangerous internal conspiracy brings together a web of deadly enemies—including his political wife, Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), a shape-shifting face-dancer named Scytale (Robert Pattinson), and even Paul’s long-lost love, Chani (Zendaya), who stands at the very center of the plot to overthrow him.

The film stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling, with Anya Taylor-Joy, and Robert Pattinson, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem.

Denis Villeneuve directs from a screenplay by Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan, based on the novels written by Frank Herbert. Dune: Part Three is scheduled to be released December 18, 2026.
