Don’t Miss Skiing a “No-Fall Zone” in Breath-Taking IMAX Friday, Get Tickets Now!
If you thought Free Solo was stressful, hold onto your seats. National Geographic and Oscar-winning directors Jimmy Chin and Chai Vasarhelyi are bringing Everest: The Other Side to theaters and IMAX this Friday October 30, 2026!
The documentary tells the terrifyingly real and deeply personal story of world-class ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson. Together, they shared a wild, terrifying dream. They wanted to climb the direct North Face of Everest and become the first people in history to ski down it through a vertical, frozen chute called the Hornbein Couloir.
From intense avalanches to severe high-altitude danger, the raw footage captures what it truly means to play in a strict “no-fall zone.” It is an exhilarating, intimate look at love, ambition, and confronting the impossible.
Then, tragedy struck. Before they could tackle Everest together, Hilaree Nelson lost her life in an avalanche on a different mountain. Many people would have walked away from the mountains forever.
Jim Morrison did the exact opposite. He chose to climb Everest anyway—to honor her memory and face his grief.
