DreamWorks’ Acclaimed 50th Milestone Animated Feature ‘Forgotten Island’ Comes Home
Animation fans are about to experience one of the most visually stunning and emotionally profound cinematic events of the decade at home. Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation are bringing Forgotten Island into your living room starting Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Serving as the historic 50th milestone feature film in DreamWorks’ storied studio catalog, the fantasy adventure is hitting cinemas with unprecedented critical momentum.
The story follows two lifelong best friends and high school graduates, Jo (voiced by Grammy and Oscar winner H.E.R.) and Raissa (voiced by Liza Soberano), who share one final night together before separating for college.
Their lives are upended when they stumble through a hidden portal that transports them to Nakali, a mystical, shape-shifting island heavily inspired by traditional Filipino folklore.
The terrifying catch? The island slowly feeds on the consciousness of those trapped within its borders. To activate the portal and return home, Jo and Raissa must pay the ultimate, devastating toll: sacrificing every single memory of their lifelong friendship, forcing a frantic race against time to escape before they forget each other forever.
Alongside H.E.R. and Soberano, the brilliant ensemble voice cast features Manny Jacinto, comedy star Jo Koy, Dave Franco as a goofy weredog named Raww, Jenny Slate, and legendary Tony Award winner Lea Salonga transforming into the island’s terrifying, mythical memory-demon antagonist, The Dreaded Manananggal.
Forgotten Island is rated PG, runs 1 hour and 38 minutes and comes to living rooms via Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) starting Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
