Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars Flies into Living Rooms everywhere via Video On Demand Tuesday
Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars,” is a riveting, epic thriller set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. Scott tells the story of Hig (Jacob Elordi), a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley (Josh Brolin), has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists.
Set in 2035, it takes place in the aftermath of a deadly flu pandemic that decimated the earth’s population and left many of its survivors with a debilitating blood disease. With society in ruins, basic necessities such as food, fuel, and medicine have become scarce, with trust being perhaps the most valuable commodity of all.
In this unforgiving new world, the survivors must not only find ways to stay alive but also determine how much of their humanity they are willing to sacrifice in order to do so.
Based on Peter Heller’s captivating bestseller, “The Dog Stars” features a critically acclaimed ensemble, including Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong and Allison Janney. The film is written by Mark L. Smith and produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Mark L. Smith, and Cliff Roberts.
The Dog Stars is rated R, 1 hr 58min long and becomes available to Rent/Buy Digitally in living rooms everywhere Tuesday October 27, 2026.
