Other Mommy (2026) – First Look!
Universal Pictures, Blumhouse, and Atomic Monster have officially unleashed the official trailer and first poster for Other Mommy. After building massive hype with a secret teaser attached exclusively to theatrical screenings of The Odyssey over the weekend, the online trailer has finally arrived to give everyone a closer look at this domestic nightmare.
Directed by genre maestro Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman) and produced by horror icon James Wan, the film brings a slick, deeply unsettling edge to the screen. The story is an adaptation of Josh Malerman’s acclaimed bestselling novel Incidents Around the House, with a screenplay penned by WGA Award-winner Nathan Elston. [
Jessica Chastain Faces Her Darkest Dual Role
The film stars Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain, who delivers a dual performance as Bela’s loving mother and the terrifying, shape-shifting entity known as the “Other Mommy“. The narrative follows 8-year-old Bela (Arabella Olivia Clark) navigating her parents’ fractured marriage. Her world shatters when a malicious entity emerges from her bedroom closet, taking on her mother’s physical form.
The entity continuously stalks the family, asking Bela an increasingly aggressive and eerie question: “Can I go inside your heart?” Unlike traditional horror movies where parents remain oblivious, the trailer reveals that the entire family quickly realizes something is terribly wrong, skyrocketing the stakes as they are targeted by the doppelgänger.

The newly released trailer highlights heavy, spine-chilling J-horror influences reminiscent of Ju-on: The Grudge, relying on distorted body movements and agonizing tension.
