The Entire ‘Rocky’ & ‘Creed’ Franchise Swings into Prime Video Ahead of Historic 50th Anniversary and New Biopic
October is shaping up to be a historic month for movie marathons, and Amazon Prime Video just delivered a knockout blow to the competition. Starting October 1st, the platform is dropping the complete 9-film Rocky and Creed library natively into its subscription catalog.
While it looks like a massive treat for movie fans, this coordinated drop is actually a highly strategic prologue to a massive November double-feature: the 50th anniversary of the original 1976 Rocky and the theatrical release of the brand-new biographical drama, I Play Rocky.
Arriving in select theaters on November 6, 2026, before expanding nationwide on November 20, I Play Rocky tells the tumultuous behind-the-scenes true story of a young, broke, and unknown Sylvester Stallone.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Peter Farrelly (Green Book), the movie stars Anthony Ippolito (The Offer) as Stallone as he desperately fights 1970s Hollywood executives to keep the lead role in his own screenplay.
The timing of the marathon and the biopic couldn’t be more poetically aligned. The original Rocky officially celebrated its premiere on November 21, 1976.
To mark 50 years of going the distance, Amazon MGM and Fathom Events are even bringing a newly remastered 4K presentation of the original Rocky back to theaters for a limited run from November 7 through November 11. Streaming the entire saga on Prime Video in October serves as the perfect training camp before the film returns to the silver screen.
Starting Thursday October 1, 2026, here is the list of Rocky and Creed Movies coming to Prime:
- Rocky (1976)
- Rocky II (1979)
- Rocky III (1982)
- Rocky IV (1985)
- Rocky IV: Rocky Vs. Drago (The 2021 Director’s Cut)
