Focus Features Unveils New Trailer and Poster for ‘Sense and Sensibility’
Jane Austen fans have an exciting new adaptation to look forward to this autumn. Focus Features has released a second trailer and poster for Sense and Sensibility (2026).
Directed by rising filmmaker Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) and adapted by screenwriter Diana Reid, this vibrant new cinematic take on the legendary 1811 novel promises a bold, emotionally rebellious aesthetic heavily inspired by Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
The classic romantic drama stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Twisters, Normal People) as the pragmatic, guarded Elinor Dashwood, and Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna) as her fiercely passionate, romantic sister Marianne.
The second trailer spotlights the late 18th-century romantic drama, tracking the emotional journeys and societal pressures faced by the Dashwood family. Following their displacement from their family estate in Sussex, the sisters navigate love and heartbreak in Devon.
The new footage specifically highlights the budding, gentle romance and ballroom dancing between Elinor Dashwood and Edward Ferrars.
Sense and Sensibility comes to theaters October 16, 2026!
