Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig, A Quiet Place: Day One), this dark historical drama follows a battle-worn, critically injured Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman). Grappling with a lifetime of violence, crime, and severe guilt, Robin seeks refuge in a remote abbey. There, he crosses paths with a mysterious, protective woman (Jodie Comer) who offers him a final chance at salvation before his past catches up with him.
The film boasts an elite supporting cast, including Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. Early buzz from its premiere highlights a towering, physical performance from Jackman, who reportedly endured freezing winter shoots in Ireland wearing a heavy 200-lb vest to ground the character’s exhaustion. With stark, painting-like cinematography by Pat Scola and an uncompromising R-rating, critics are already calling it his medieval Logan.
