Lionsgate unleashes New Trailer, Posters & Pics ahead of November 20 release date!
The Hunger Games universe is officially plunging back into the dark history of Panem. Lionsgate has unleashed a massive new marketing wave for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (2026), giving us a trailer, a pair of official theatrical posters, and a gallery of eight brand-new promotional stills.
Based on the highly popular novel by Suzanne Collins, the prequel takes place 24 years before Katnisch Everdeen’s historic rebellion. The story focuses entirely on a 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (played by Joseph Zada), the young man destined to survive the arena only to become District 12’s tragically broken, alcohol-dependent mentor.
The trailer teases the dramatic, drone-fueled tribute parade shrouded in vibrant Capitol smoke, alongside flashes of Haymitch’s personal life before his world burns.
It also doubles down on the sheer brutality of the games, featuring swarms of neon-blue stinging butterflies, attacking red birds, and a tense alliance between Haymitch and fellow District 12 tribute Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace).
A haunting voiceover echoes the grim reality of Panem’s ultimate weapon: “Nobody ever wins the games, period. There are survivors. There’s no winners.”
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will hit theaters and IMAX nationwide on November 20, 2026
