Lionsgate Drops Terrifying Final Trailer, Thrilling River Ambush Clip and Pics for ‘Beware Boiúna’!

The horror season is officially kicking off with ancient, monstrous scales terrifying the waters. To celebrate its recent premier at Fantastic Fest, Lionsgate has unleashed a massive asset drop for Beware Boiúna (2026), treating horror fans to both the terrifying final trailer and an exclusive, heart-pounding film clip titled “Grab Onto Something”!

Directed by rising director Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85) and penned by veteran survival writer Alan B. McElroy, the film strips away polished Hollywood clichés to deliver a gritty, atmospheric, and practical creature feature deeply rooted in South American mythology.

Mother of the Waters

The survival thriller stars Kiana Madeira (Fear Street), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), and Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade) as a team of idealistic doctors embarking on a humanitarian medical mission along the remote Curuçá River deep within the Amazon rainforest.

The mission takes a catastrophic turn when their presence disrupts the local ecosystem, awakening a legendary regional nightmare: the Boiúna (the mythical “Cobra Grande”).

A colossal, prehistoric serpent capable of hunting on both land and water, the entity views the jungle as her sacred domain, relentlessly pursuing the human intruders while dictating exactly who lives and who dies.

“Grab Onto Something!”

The new film clip “Grab Onto Something” perfectly highlights the intense environmental tension Nelson brings to the project. Captured on location in the high-risk river regions near Leticia, Colombia, the sequence shows the doctors caught on a fragile, motorized river barge as the water around them begins to churn violently.

Before they can react, a massive underwater impact overturns the barge, sending the cast into a frantic scramble to lock themselves down as Boiúna rises from the river depths.
