Chucky slashes his way into Netflix!
Horror fans have a massive reason to celebrate this summer as everyone’s favorite possessed Good Guys doll officially invades Netflix on August 1, 2026. The streaming giant is dropping a huge batch of mainline sequels, making it the perfect opportunity to lock your doors and queue up a legendary slasher marathon.
The Child’s Play franchise kicked off in 1988, introducing Charles Lee Ray—a notorious serial killer who uses voodoo to transfer his soul into a children’s doll. Over nearly four decades, the franchise has brilliantly shifted from standard slasher horror to campy horror-comedy, expanding across seven mainline films and a hit television series.
What’s Coming, What’s Missing, and Where to Watch
Due to split studio distribution rights between Universal Pictures and MGM, the collection on Netflix is missing a few key puzzle pieces.
- Streaming on Netflix (August 1): Child’s Play 2 (1990), Child’s Play 3 (1991), Bride of Chucky (1998), Seed of Chucky (2004), Curse of Chucky (2013), and Cult of Chucky (2017).
- The Original Child’s Play (1988): Not on Netflix. You can stream it right now on MGM+ or FuboTV.
- The Child’s Play Remake (2019): Not on Netflix. It is currently available exclusively via digital rental or purchase on Apple TV and Amazon Video.
Chucky and the six Universal sequels will be available on Netflix for exactly three months, with their departure officially scheduled for October 31, 2026. They will leave the platform right on Halloween night as part of standard licensing rotations, giving you the entire fall season to get your Chucky binging done.
