Fresh off its highly anticipated world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Amazon MGM Studios has officially released the gripping opening scene film clip for Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother (2026).
Directed by the acclaimed Bassam Tariq, this first look sets an incredibly high-stakes, tense tone for what promises to be one of the standout action-thrillers of the year.
The film stars two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali as Latif, a devout Muslim and elite contract killer who operates under a strict, unyielding moral code. When his wife suddenly passes away, Latif finds himself thrust into a desperate, dangerous journey across the city of Houston to protect his children from the violent world he inhabited.
The title is a direct reference to a well-known Islamic Hadith (saying of the Prophet Muhammad). When a man asked who among people is most deserving of his good companionship, the Prophet responded: “Your mother.” When asked who was next, he replied again, “Your mother,” and a third time, “Your mother,” before finally saying “Your father” on the fourth inquiry.
