A Talent For Murder (2026) – First Look!

Helen Mirren and Alden Ehrenreich Battle Wits in ‘A Talent for Murder’

Move over, Tom Ripley—there is a new psychological chess match in town, and it is heading straight to the big screen.

Based on the acclaimed stage play Switzerland, the film follows a slick, ambitious New York literary agent (Alden Ehrenreich) who travels to a reclusive bunker in Switzerland.

His mission? Force the notoriously hostile, brilliant crime author Patricia Highsmith (Helen Mirren) into signing a contract for one final book in her iconic Ripley series.

Highsmith isn’t going down without a fight. She forces the young agent into a tense mental duel, demanding that they plot a real-life “perfect murder” right then and there to prove he actually understands the mind of a killer.

What follows is a twisty, claustrophobic mind game where the line between fiction and reality completely vanishes. Directed by Anton Corbijn , A Talent For Murder also stars Olivia Cooke and Juliet Stevenson.
