Tom Cruise is Digger Rockwell on a mission to save the world from his own chaos!
Warner Bros. Pictures just dropped the second and final trailer—alongside a new theatrical ‘Cast’ poster—for Digger, the highly anticipated new film from five-time Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
Marking a major milestone, this project serves as Iñárritu’s first English-language feature since The Revenant and features a wild, transformative performance from Tom Cruise that you have to see to believe.
Tom Cruise Like You’ve Never Seen Him Before
Stepping away from his usual death-defying action stunts, Cruise undergoes a massive physical transformation to play Digger Rockwell—a blunt, older, potbelly Southern oil tycoon. The final trailer gives us a much clearer look at the movie’s dark, Dr. Strangelove-esque political satire.
When Digger’s company inadvertently unleashes a catastrophic environmental disaster in Greenland, the standing U.S. President (played by a hilarious John Goodman) charges the chaotic oil baron with saving the world. What follows is a frantic, deeply self-absorbed, and entirely chaotic mission as Digger tries to prove he is humanity’s ultimate savior while trying to protect his global power.
Shot beautifully on analog 35mm VistaVision film by legendary cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity, Birdman), the movie looks like an absolute visual treat packed with sharp, sardonic wit.
An All-Star Ensemble Cast
Beyond Cruise and Goodman, Iñárritu has assembled an elite powerhouse cast:
- Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall)
- Jesse Plemons (Kinds of Kindness)
- Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal)
- Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me by Your Name)
- Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me)
