Remarkably Bright Creatures is based on The Novel of the same by Shelby Van Pelt published May 3, 2022. The Book to Movie Adaptation was written and directed by Olivia Newman. It stars Sally Field, Lewis Pullman, Joan Chen, Kathy Baker, Beth Grant, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Colm Meaney, and Alfred Molina.
A widow, Tova Sullivan (Sally Field), who works the night shift at Sowell Bay Aquarium near Puget Sound, forms an unlikely bond with a giant Pacific octopus named Marcellus (voiced by Alfred Molina). A wayward young man, Cameron Cassmore (Lewis Pullman), comes to town in search of family and gets a maintenance job at the aquarium. Cameron and Tova become fast friends and together, they uncover a mystery that will lead them to a life-changing discovery and restore their sense of wonder.
